As Christians, why should we vote for Mayor Duterte

Less than a month to the 2016 presidential elections, we finally have decided who to vote for president. All of them are good and can lead to some measures, but as a people who expect a spiritual revival in the Philippines; we have to look at different avenues to choose who the best candidate for the Malacañang Palace is. We prayed, watched almost every interviews, read almost all trending posts, followed each of their campaign journeys online, and we have come to a sound decision that we are giving our #ChristianVote to Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

Voting with a Conviction

We call this the #ChristianVote because this is not just a vote from a Filipino citizen (not that it is lesser) exercising the rights of suffrage alone. This is not just a vote out of our own personal experiences, ethnicity (Bisaya) and locality. This is not even because he is our Mayor.

This is a vote in faith and intercession given to the one who we believe can be used by God to usher His destiny and calling for the Filipino people.

Qualified but…

Let’s go there straight.

Senator Meriam Santiago is sickly. She is smart but can’t even stand in debates for a long period of time because of her physical limitations. How can she run this nation in its nitty gritty plight? The Philippines needs a president who will go to every barangays and get her/his hands dirty (not in a corrupt way) with work. Senator Santiago is not the right person for this responsibility.

Senator Grace Poe is well-versed but has limited experience. She can do research, prepare a plan but the last #PiliPinasDebates2016 for presidentiables disclosed that she can’t decide effectively in the midst of crisis. This was reflected when she was asked by the good Mayor on what will she do if China attacks. Senator Poe is good but not fully equipped for this time being. This is setting aside the issue on her citizenship which may play a crucial role in understanding what this country needs.

Former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Mar Roxas has been given a lot of chances for good governance over the past few years but he hasn’t done this nation any outstanding and effective long term change. Former DILG Sec. Roxas was born to a family of influential leaders but does not possess the heart and will to be one.

Vice President Jejomar Binay is tinted with corruption issues. We have a saying that “when there’s smoke, there’s fire”. He denied all issues and say all are black propagandas. But how come he did not also expose what’s true? Why is he not present in all hearings? Why is he not using media to share what reality is? A press conference can be very easy to call but he did not do anything to address these issues.

This tells us that he is hiding something. There’s no transparency. And in the condition the Philippines is at right now, gray lines are not a gamble we’re willing to risk.

Why #DU30?

Let’s also go their straight.

Mayor Duterte is a proven and tested effective leader. In all the presidential candidates only Mayor Duterte has a track record of competent public service WITHOUT CORRUPTION issues. His 22 years of service in Davao is definitely not perfect but the best across the land.

We are a living witnesses. We have traveled a few cities in Europe, Asia and the Philippines but there’s no place like Davao City.

  • There is peace and order. The law is functioning. There are No Smoking Ordinance, Firecracker Ban, Speed Limit, Liquor Restriction, No Videoke In Public after 10pm, and a few more rules that we all abide and value. It’s not a martial law state because only those who violate the law receive humane consequences. These laws gave this city the rare peace of mind we can’t find in any cities.
  • There is safety. People are free and protected. When we see police officers (which is almost every 1 kilometer in public places), we feel safe and not threatened. When we hear news of bomb threats and crimes, we have a mindset that it won’t happen in Davao City because we have Mayor Duterte. Our 911 and public rescue and safety teams are there 24/7 ready to respond to any call of help, for free!
  • There is progress. Visit Davao City today, you will see taller buildings and new infrastructures simultaneously being built all over. There are jobs and good opportunities. It’s true, life is here. And this can be possible nationwide, if the Philippines is up for it.
  • There is equality. People are heard. Even the poorest of poor receives justice when the issue reaches the Mayor. People from different groups even the minorities, are esteemed.

Mayor Duterte can unite the nation. The NPA, MILF, MNLF, Catholics, (“born again”) Christians and all other groups share a good standing with the Mayor. There is mutual honor and respect despite the differences.

And only a Mayor Duterte can do this. Only him can lead this diverse land with more than 80 ethnic groups spread out in 7000 plus islands, including all the Filipinos working all over the world. He alone can bring the unity we badly need.

Mayor Duterte has a clear plan with a time frame. Only a #DuterteCayetano tandem gives us  solutions. If this is a science class and Filipino people is the teacher, other tandems (science groups) are identifying the problem and giving us hypotheses. The #DuCay tandem is giving this land a conclusion and recommendations. They both have the leadership and political will for transformation.

Yes, our Vice-President is Senator Allan Cayetano. Here’s why.

#CayetanoVPKo

In addition, if we deem that Mayor Duterte is a great leader; wise and not corrupt, we have to trust his choice. There’s a reason why he choose Cayetano and not Marcos or Robredo…

Mayor Duterte is a palaban (gladiatorial). The Mayor is a fighter. He hates crimes and injustice. He is brave and is a man of action.

Mayor Duterte is a patriot. He has passion for the nation and love for the Filipino people that we have not seen from the rest. He ran not because he wants to gain something, but because he wants to serve his people and bring change in this nation. He genuinely cares for the poor and the helpless.

Not Political

Mayor Duterte has issues…

He cuss and is adulterous according to the Law of God. These caused our hesitations before because we wanted a leader who upholds righteousness. We even had to follow his stands on divorce and same sex marriage and we’re happy when he declared NO to both. Nonetheless, we have to understand that he did not have a real encounter with God yet. We can’t expect anyone to uphold God’s values and project the saintly life when he doesn’t have the Holy Spirit in his life. That would be unfair.

The killings of Davao Death Squad (DDS) is also linked to his name. This was a big no-no to me before. I even wrote a blog about it discussing how it doesn’t reflect the heart of God who is full of grace. These criminals should be given a chance. But over the years I understood that in a corrupt nation like the Philippines where the justice system works only for the rich, a serious Public Servant needs to do radical measures to uphold justice and common good. Desperate men do desperate things.

It’s simple, killing one drug pusher will save 50 kids who are using drugs. And we’re from Davao City, we have personally seen at least three pushers killed and have talked to their relatives. We even know someone whose Dad was a former member of the DDS. Living here for more than 15 years, we can attest that it’s true, no one is killed without being warned, no minor, women or the innocent are killed. Because if only our judicial system works, the DDS should have remained a myth.

To add, the Mayor also has a bad mouth. The latest “rape joke” shows that. He has “gutter language”. How we wish he talks more statesmanly but he is who he is. He grew up in the “streets”. But at the end of the day, it’s not about who talks more politically correct but who can lead this nation with effective leadership. The one who won’t steal from the people but will give himself fully to the nation.

Lastly, Mayor Duterte is not the “good image” guy we’re used to. Not the political type that tickles our itching ears with good words but are unable to implement and bring real change. He bluntly reflects the real situation of our society: broken family, cusses when mad… But why would these actions intimidate the Christian in us when we often see these in our own neighborhood? Adultery, cussing, and killings are in the very soap operas you love to watch. Let’s not do what the Pharisees did when Jesus walked on earth. 🙂

Revival in the Philippines

We believe in the change coming. We believe in revival coming to the Philippines. As Christians, we need to look what God is doing and not be blinded by self-righteousness. We need to be able to set aside our religious preferences and think of our nation. Who can lead us best? Who has a track record great governance? Who is not corrupt? Who can best bring the will of God and His righteousness in this nation? It is the one with the selfless motive to real change.

This is the time for revival. He is giving us a leader who can usher transformation in our land. Let’s position our nation for revival by voting the one with the heart to serve and will to change. Duterte, despite his imperfections is the man of the hour! He is the instrument for change.

Yes he’s not a Christian (yet). But even the “unbeliever kings” in the Old Testament (Nebuchadnezzar, Xerxes) were used by God to bring salvation to His people. It just takes a people bold enough to position themselves to be used by God and usher blessing from a leader to a nation. Let’s be the Daniel and Esther of our generation. Let’s give our #ChristianVote to #Duterte!

🙂 🙂 🙂

NOTE: When I used the word “we”, this means my Husband and I. This stand and campaign do not reflect the people we serve and organizations we’re affiliated. However if you’re a Christian like to join us in the “we” voice and would like to influence others to give their #ChristianVote to #Duterte, please pray with us… please share this blog to open more eyes. On to national transformation!

  1. very clear and concise ang presentation…. me and my family join You in the “we” voice, we cast our Christian vote to Duterte and Cayetàno…

      • I am not a christian, because christian is a religious term. I am not religious but I love the Lord, I am a child of God, I am a royal priesthood 1 Peter 2:9.

This article may give more ideas to all!

        THE ALTERNATIVE GOVERNMENT
God is not subject to our politics, nor can He be, but He has created His own political system and governmental structure which is far superior to all forms of earthly government. From the Creator’s perspective, life is politics, and He is the essence of life.
In Him there is no distinction between government and spirituality. They are one and the same. The assignment given to the first man in the Garden of Eden was a political assignment given to a spirit being living in a flesh body. Therefore, in the context of the original biblical mandate, the concept of the separation of church and state or religion and government is a lofty idea that has no root in biblical logic or fact. The original biblical mandate provides no foundation for it.
Everyone is religious in the sense that they bring to life their moral convictions no matter what their religious claim. We all are political and religious. There can be no separation. You cannot legislate a contrast between a man and his belief system. Legislation itself is the result and manifestation of a belief system and moral judgment.
Therefore, democracy can succeed only where there is a clear accountability to a moral code accepted by the majority as being good, civil, and right, and which serves as the anchor and foundation for national governance. Moral code is recognized constitutionally and nationally as the biblical principles of the Christian faith and the God of those Scriptures. This is stated within the constitutional document and provides an authoritative reference for governing within our nation. Consequently, when the majority votes and the results are in keeping with the natural laws and standards established in the biblical text, and then the vote is considered legitimate.
On the other hand, when the majority votes in violation of natural law and of the principles established by the biblical text, that vote or legislation becomes illegitimate. In essence, the problem with democracy—rule of the people—is that the vote of many can be the wrong vote. Another weakness of democracy is that it is not absolute. Its concepts and laws can blow like the wind. It can be easily influenced by the changing culture. Because the citizens can be so easily manipulated by a shift in the culture and by the will of people at the top, they can be induced to abandon their rights and transfer them to those who rule over them. Plato knew that eventually the rule of the people would deteriorate into the rule of the state. I predict with great sadness that even democracy, with all of its promises and aspirations for a good, civil, and just society, will not survive as a human government. When your best is not good enough, the only alternative is to look elsewhere for something better. What is this alternative? It is to return to the original governing concept of God the Creator, which is the kingdom concept. Of course, people who have lived in the context of a democracy or a republic all their lives usually find it not only difficult but almost impossible to understand or accept easily this concept of a kingdom. Compounding the problem is the historical educational process that paints the concept of kingdoms in a negative light due to experiences with corrupt kings and kingdoms in the past. As a matter of fact, to many people, in their limited understanding, a kingdom is simply a dictatorship in the hands of a family. If this is true, then the message of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago was the promotion and establishment of a dictatorship with Himself as the dictator. He called Himself a “King” and said He came to bring back to earth a “Kingdom.” According to this message, which was the only one He preached, the ultimate key to successful human earthly government is the restoration of a King and a Kingdom on earth, through a righteous, benevolent and good King. There is only One who can fit that role.
He is the One who created us and designed each one of us with a unique purpose. We must bring back the King. This King cares for His citizens. His rule is a righteous rule. It is this ideal, original kingdom that the heart of all humanity seeks. All of mankind throughout history, and still today, is searching desperately to find that perfect kingdom. Man has tried every imaginable way to create a flawless government. What he has failed to understand is that the original Kingdom, established by the King, is what he has been searching for all along.

The kingdoms of this world must accept the Kingdom of the Lord and of His Christ. The original and ideal King and Kingdom are superior to all other forms of government. This teaching series will prove that point as we continue our journey to understand this majestic concept. Even within the Church we argue over government, not knowing that there is only one government. We must come to understand the superiority of a kingdom over all other forms of government.
The world needs a benevolent King. We have that King; we just don’t identify Him. I said earlier that one qualification of a legitimate king is ownership of land, which automatically makes him a lord. God, who has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ, is the ultimate Lord and owner of all things.
Who makes God to be King and Lord? Nobody! He is King and Lord by right of creation.
Creative rights give Him incontestable ownership rights to earth and the universe. He created all things and that automatically makes Him Lord of all. We don’t give God the earth. He doesn’t need us to make Him King. We can only acknowledge Him as King. His original purpose and plan was to extend His invisible Kingdom of Heaven to earth through His offspring in His image—mankind—and to rule through man as a heavenly agency.
In essence, with God’s Kingdom on earth, His territory, through all mankind, we would be rulers under the Ruler. Once we are under the rule of this gracious, merciful, benevolent, loving, caring King, He takes personal responsibility for us, not as servants or serfs, but as family and royal children. This care of the citizens by the king is a concept called “kingdom welfare” and describes the king’s personal commitment to look after the needs and wants of his citizens within his land. Therefore, the word welfare is a concept that can only be understood fully in the context of a kingdom. Whenever we submit to a king and his kingdom, we come under His welfare. Welfare is not a word that can be used in a democracy. For many, the very word welfare paints negative pictures in their minds, and they believe it to be a societal curse.
In the context of a kingdom, however, welfare is a beautiful word and describes something to be highly desired. It is a word that is used to express a king’s commitment to his citizenry. This is why in all true kingdoms the concept of prosperity and national social services is called “common wealth.” Again, this concept can only be understood within the concept of a kingdom. In any of the other forms of government, no regime or person has ever been successful in effectively caring for “all” of the citizens. As a matter of fact, even under the best form of human government, democracy, there is the plight of the rich versus the poor, the have’s compared to the have not’s, the extreme and unequal distribution of wealth, discrimination, racism, divisions, social classifications, and ethnic segregation.
History continually fails to show us a government that manifests the equality, harmony, stability, and community that man has desired and sought after from the day of the fall of Adam. Even our best is defective. No government has been able to take care of its people equally.
In a true ideal kingdom, however, all the citizens’ welfare is the personal responsibility of the king. This is why the original kingdom concept, as in the Kingdom of God taught by Jesus Christ, is superior to all other governments. Therefore, in a kingdom, the concept of “commonwealth” is also very important, and the word correctly describes the nature of the relationship the king has with his citizens and subjects (focuses). The wealth in a kingdom is common (shared). Therefore, in a true ideal kingdom there is no discrimination or distinction between the rich and the poor, for in such a kingdom all citizens have equal access to kingdom wealth and resources provided by the benevolent king.
In essence, the King’s interest (attention) is the welfare) of the Kingdom and everything in it. If none of the human systems of government are suitable, how then do we adopt God’s original kingdom concept into our world? It begins by understanding the kingdom concept of colonization. • Hi Lida, sorry I couldn’t copy you in all anymore. There are a lot of comments coming in lately. It’s just not that I’m able to sit down and respond. Please feel free to read and respond. 🙂 God bless.

    • remember that God choses his servants from the wicked.Moises.his cruelty to the hebrews.king David adulterer and murderer.Paul the christian persecutor…all of them used by God for the goods and welfare of His chosen people.of all vp only cayetano a christian in faith is the one who remain loyal to Mayor Duterte..probably God will used cayetano as an instrument to let Duterte knows the greatnes of our creator.and all this things is a Gods plan…

      • Wait.. David was annointed as king when he was way younger, a cut above the rest of his brothers who were soldiers all because of his heart. Yes, David became an adulterer and murderer but he paid for it 2 Samual12:11 “This is what the LORD says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. 12 You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’”

Paul was a persecutor, but he turned away against killing the believers immediately when he encountered God.

Their call was direct – straightly coming from heaven or through a prophet. We are now given the Bible & the Holy Spirit to help us discern based on what is written and not on what we think the will of the Lord is:

An excerpt from Deuteronomy 17:14-20: The King
(:15) Should come among you (a citizen)
(:16) Doesn’t amass machines of war & Does not lead people to violence
(:17) Not adulterous & not corrupted by Greed
(:18) Studies the Law of God & ABIDES by the Law of God
(:19) Honors God & Lives out the law of God
        (:20) Humble

      • We cannot and should not compare Dutere with David,Moses, Paul, sister. First of all, they were David,Moses ,and Paul were believers of God and were Church leaders while Duterte is not. Second is, the three of them repented their sins towards God. I respect your vote but beware of the misuse of the scripture. Never use scripture or passage of a scripture just to justify your belief or idea. Believers will find comfort in the story of these 3 men of God but to use them to justify duterte’s senselessactions is an abuse of the scripture.

  2. Brilliant! Well explained. Understandable! Only those who are accustomed to crime and corruption won’t listen to this and take a bribe for his/her vote. Those kind of voters will exchange their vote for a meal or two in return to 4-6 year term of more corruption. I hope this post wake up their senses.
Wake up Philippines! The wind of change is coming!

  3. Yes! DUTERTE-CAYETANO!!! I believe DUTERTE – CAYETANO are GOD’s chosen leaders for our country the Philippines! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

  4. I think Duterte is chosen by divine destiny. He was described in an article about the Nostradamus quatrain with something like this…A vivid description of our Flag and a man rising from the City of Eagle which i presume would be Duterte from Davao, a womanizer, and he will go to the big city ( Manila or malacanang)and the Philippines will rise under his rule..There is a big job waiting for him when he becomes President: . Decongesting Metro Manila : Traffic problem, criminality, drugs, law and order,NAIA airport anomalies and syndicates, slum , squatter problems and resettlement, Universal Health Care similar to Canada, Scandinavia, France etc.. Waste management and Sanitation,Infrastructure, Railway System, Eliminating the barriers in commerce , business and trade, red tape, bureaucracy, graft, corruption, transparency, accountability, freedom of information ,. non political , honest. efficient and quick Justice System, Constitutional Convention, Federalism, getting rid of Political Dynasties and Corporate Monopolies and protectionism,Then we have education, creation of jobs and opportunities, taking care of our elderly, needs of farmers and fisherman, disaster alertness, the south China Sea and peaceful communication and settlements with the Muslim factions, the NPA and some other left wing groups. This is a big challenge for Duterte and I hope he will have the wisdom ,knowledge and the courage to surround himself with the best technocrats, and advisers to tackle this humongous task of government clean up and shake up from top to bottom . God Bless the Philippinesd

    • Based on what is happening in our country and on the spiritual condition of many Christians (i.e., if they are Christians) God would most likely let Duterte win, not to bless the Philippines, but to let economic and social disasters happen in the Philippines to punish the nation, in general, and to discipline the Christians, especially those who voted for Duterte, in particular!

    • Not a fan of Nostradamus but a big fan of Jesus. This is all happening because God has a plan. Our good Mayor is a tool. 🙂

  5. I’ve done my part, i voted for him 4 days ago.
Oh yes, Vote for the best man to lead our country. God bless the Philippines!
    #PhVoteDuterte

  6. yes duterte cayetano GODS CHOSEN TO CLEANSE OUR NATION BEFORE REVIVAL COMES GLORY TO THE LORD MOST HIGH

  7. Please remove the #christianvote make your blog personal..don’t drag our faith. Not christian vote PLEASE.

God is Sovereign and powerful. He listens and He answers. If you believe that mayor is our hope I RESPECT you.

    • I agree. The writer should Speak for herself and not drag other christians like us who will not vote for du30.

      • Hi Jamie and Ermileen, please read the blog again. As explained in the blog, the #ChristianVote was a vote in faith for Duterte’s leadership aligning to God’s plan and call in this nation. It is a PERSONAL belief and act of faith… It was clearly explained that the “WE” there DO NOT REPRESENT any group of people not even our church nor religious affiliations. If anyone want to join my husband and I however, they were asked to share.

    • knowledge is natural desire in all people regardless of religion and belief. But knowledge for its own sake is useless unless you fear God. A goon, an ex-convict after realizing their mistakes or a peasant, whose contentment is the service of God is better than the learned and the clever kagaya ng mga sinasabi nilang mga desente at marangal kuno na mga magnanakaw naman at walang puso, walang awa sa mga kapos palad nating mga kababayan. The hoodlums who wear robes in our courts, who pretends to be good Christians whose pride in their knowledge leads them to neglect their souls.

God is Sovereign and powerful, Yes, He listens and He answers. We, the people who has less knowledge but considered ourselves Christians do believe and trust in Him.

  8. Thank you well said🌻🌻🌻. I am for Duterte and i am a Christian, so as my for three children. I remember Paul, i remember David, they are not without sin, but God used them. I do pray tha Duterte will be the vessel for our beloved country. ❤️❤️❤️

  9. All the presidentiable only mayor duterte have a potential to manage our country very well, in terms of peace the rest to be followed! As a christian 100% i will support him.

  10. Masyadong biased at lame ang feedback mo kay miriam defensor santiago, correct lang kita Miriam hindi meriam.

    • I agree. Miriam is actually the most qualified of all the 5 candidates. However, I am voting for Duterte because, despite her vocal claims that she is physically well, her body language says differently. I believe she can serve the country best being alive and continue to expose corruption as a senator or even as Secretary of Justice to a Duterte administration

    • Thanks for correcting. 🙂 Just saying the truth… To be honest even if she is well, I still wouldn’t vote for her. She doesn’t have empathy for the people…

  11. In our discussion today, Dr. Manfred Kohl, our German theologian and organizational consultant, shared their experience in Germany, where all Evangelical associations and pastors supported Adolf Hitler in his election to be the leader of Germany who promised to have change in society saying that when you have the right person, the society will change. History then revealed what change was brought by Hitler in Germany. The lesson: character is the primary consideration in choosing leaders.

    • For sure they prayed and asked Gods wisdom and intervention. That is why they suppoerted Hitler. I’snt it ironic?

      • I don’t think so. If they TRULY sought the Lord, it wouldn’t ended that way.

    • I understand your fears. That’s why this is a vote in faith right? Duterte is but a tool. Jesus is King.

  12. I am a christian, a baptist by denomination. I beg to disagree. Evil people were used by God not a channel of blessing but a vessel of wrath for his people Israe l because of their sins. That is the context of their appoitment by God himself but not the people. Your mention of old testament non-believers cannot be used as juatification for a Duterte vote. If you are an Israelite at that time would you vote and pray to God to give them to be your king? It is God’s normal way of installing a godly leader for his people, the one who displays godly character and values. Is Duterte like that?

GOD BLESS THE PHILIPPINES.

    • For as long as man liveth, there is a chance for repentance.. God exercises His permissive will to let a person lead a country for a purpose. As a christian, can we not pray to God that He will make a way for Du30 be saved and be a genuine christian and at d same time a President? He was not my choice until d last debate. He was the only candidate of whom I heard he will pray for God’s grace that the Filipinos will be given the wisdom to choose the right leader not citing himself. I am a Baptist by faith and believer of God’s sovereign grace. I am a sinner saved by grace and only Gid knows if Du30 will become one of us one day. I share d same sentiments of d writer of dis blog why I am voting Du30 as president. He has proven his good leadership and good governance. His character can be changed by God’s grace. It is our responsibility to include him in our prayers for this. God bless the Philippines. May God bring the change through Du30’s leadership and cinsequently our God will be glorified.

    • show me anyone who has Godly character among the presidentiables- heck, let’s talk about Christians and the rest of the people. Do you think we all exhibit Godly character? Otherwise we won’t be in need of God’s grace.
      Get off your high horse!

  13. All I read was sounds so good to me I really understand now why should or would I vote duterte and cayetano….they are the best to manage Philippines…….i vote duterte cayetano Sana kayo rin

  14. A Tip on How to Vote as a Christian:

"If you are a professing Christian, the Bible should be your primary guide for voting. The media, politics, feelings, personalities, social issues or other perspectives should only be secondary factors in your voting decisions."

It is God that establishes rulers and governments. Human leaders then serves as God's representatives and should reflect His character and principles in their leadership.

So, how should Christians vote? Vote for the one who displays Godly Character and Values the most from those available candidates. Christians use this principle in choosing their church leaders, might as well use this for political purposes such as electing a President.

  15. I understang your convictions. Im bro.gary po. Just read from Johnny Sy … CHOOSE your candidates wisely this election.
CHOOSE those who put God first and those who have the fear of the Lord in them.
SHARE this simple but very important message to people near you today. They need to know what the Bible says about BLESSING AND CURSE. Both are from God!
BLESSING is beneficial to us, while curse is harmful to us. To enjoy the benefits of God’s blessings and be protected from curses, we need to have the fear of the Lord in us too.
Reminder: If we have the wrong leaders in our government, it will surely affect us, our community and our whole nation even the next generation. We don’t want to have God’s curse in us.
    So pray about this matter!
( from gary ) i believe if our loved mayor duterte wins and submit to GOD that is blessing, if he wont and continue being sick with his arrogance then it is a curse…he told in the last debate, kahit user lang ang anak niya, papapatay niya. so he can easily kill anyone user pa lang, he is reallllly dangerous. 3 months pa lang di pa siya presidente look at what he has done, salita pa lang ito. huge humiliation ang nalikha, only us here laugh at his jokes. From pope P.I., to the ambassadors’ dare to cut ties, maid na sinilipan, hamill rape joke, son na papatayin, paralyzed pakamatay ka na lang, philhealth issue, 211M trillanes case and so many others. What more if seated already, di na lang salita, execution na ng mga sinasabi niya. Let us give the other presidentiables to sit wag lang muna si mayor. Let us give him the chance to take a Health Rest, just like Mirriam. Mahal ko po si mayor and we are praying for him araw araw. GOD bless you and your family and our land.

  16. WHY I’M NOT VOTING FOR DUTERTE: he doesnt respect life.
i know those rapists, drug lords, killers and other ‘bad’ guys he eradicates dont have respect for life too, however, i believe in second chances. they can be put in jails, and who knows they might meet Christ there and be changed. i know alot of guys who’ve been saved in prison. God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
after all, Christ came to this world for the lost.
    killing isnt the solution. period.

    #JustSaying #My2Cents

    • I know someone, inaanak po ni Duterte…ang father nya is a close friend of Duterte…

  17. I am Christian but I don’t believe that Duterte is God chosen to be the President of our country. If God allow him to be elected. Expect for the distraction. What is written in the bible will happen, destruction is around the World when the time of Jesus Christ second coming is near, my heart is grieving in prayer why many Christians endorsing such kind of candidates. Very obvious that what is coming from his mouth is not God follower. Pray more and more because God speak into our heart when we pray. Christians don’t get desperate. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not with your own understanding. I don’t judge Duterte but if you really listen to his word and the way of answering the question to him, IS THAT THE KIND OF PRESIDENT COMING FROM OUR GOOD GOD? I don’t think so. Don’t be desperate and gamble our country to Duterte’s hand have real faith to God. It’s like most Duterte supporters are ” KAPIT SA PATALIM” because according to them they gave no good choice, Pray Pray Pray Pray and Pray more that’s all Christians should do and don’t endorse candidates with no God heart but killings is his bukang bibig. Peace to All and let the love of real God reign in our heart.😊

  18. I think it is good & yes i vote duterte &cayetano for the seek of our country.
I believe through them our country will rise again.

  19. Honesty, this is more of a speculative and lacking of facts and fairness. If you are truly a Christian, ask God for wisdom. How could a Christian condone extrajudicial killing? Condone a person insulting rape of a missionary worker? Condone a bad mouthed individual? And please, your example Nebuchadnezar is nowhere near Duterte. Baliktarin naman natin ang Biblia, Duterte lacks moral values. Morality is what we need in the Philippines. A change of heart. As Christians we should be ashame of ourselves not doing more what God commanded us to do. Puting Duterte on TV cursing here and there is totally unacceptable.

  20. I saw your blog shared by ptr. Ed Lapiz and I’m glad I’ve read it. This vonvinced me that I didn’t make a mistake voting for the mayor and sen. Cayetano. God bless the Philippines.

  21. Amen to that ! You nailed it ! Praying for your family, our Nation , and for those who are still undicided. I pray that the people will be enlightened by this and may GOD bless Mayor Duterte, soon to be our President ! Thank you !

  22. Bakit kaya naiyak ako sa post mo sis? …

Thank you ha. Kaming mga tahimik lang ay nagkaroon ng “tagapag-salita” (in you)

PS. Sen Cayetano I’m sure has been praying hard for Mayor Digong and with a host of prayer partners from all over the world joining him, we will see his effort and faith bear fruit. Phil 4:6

  23. You are giving your vote because you are not a Christian. The term Christian came from the name of Christ. Being a Christian means being a follower of Christ, following his teachings. And the teaching of Christ is to love, have mercy and compassion with one another. You cannot see in the New Testament that he thought to kill and not to submit to authorities. You are voting for Duterte because you are believing in a different Christ.

    • Medyo delikado yata yan kapatid. You’re attaching our Christian identity to a certain candidate. It’s unfair for us who don’t share the same opinion. Plus that pag hindi kami nag agree, it seems that we made the wrong decision and worst… na hindi kami Christian? And besides, follower tayo ni Christ. There are no Christs among the candidates… unless you consider him as another Christ/ neo-Christ which is already a form of idolatry. So I don’t agree that you use the term “Christian vote” because it gives the wrong impression na lahat ng Christians ay kay Du30.

      • My thoughts exactly. So if a Christian votes a different candidate that makes them not a Christian, of less of a Christian than this writer? Being a Christian means I should also share this Christian’s opinion?

    • May point ka bro. Anyone from Christian Community (born-again) should not endorse any presidential candidate unless otherwise he/she really received message from God to do such. That may cause confusions to other Christians. What we need to do, or the best thing we should do is to advise every Christian to..PRAY!! Not to endorse any candidate. Remember, there is only ONE GOD. Alangan naman po na sa kabila grupo ng Christians si Duterte ang gusto ng God nila i-boto nila and sa other Christian Group naman ay si Binay? Hahaha! May goodness! Wake up Brothers and Sisters!

Romans 11:34. Anyone? I’m begging you guys, ipag-pray niyo ng ngusto itong election na to. Hindi siya ganun ka simple. Then if it’s your candidate, it’s your candidate. Campaign all you can. But not to the point of telling people that it is a unanimous decision of us all (including the Lord), dragging everyone into the bandwagon. Na hindi naman totoo. Akala ko ba agents of truth tayo?

    • very well said, Joseph Ronald David. our God doesnt condone killing. He is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). after all, Christ came for the lost.

  24. I am for Mayor Duterte. However, I still believe that God has the last say whom He will allow to become the next president of our nation. We were given freedom to vote who to elect but let us
not cease in praying that God will save our nation (meaning it is God not the president to be) from
the hands of the wicked people in government. The change should start from ourselves.
NO TO VOTE BUYING! God bless the Philippines!

  25. IN THIS LAND WHERE MOST PEOPLE ARE DECEIVED BY THEIR NEEDS AND BECAME INJUSTICE AND VIOLATORS OF THE LAW, AS IF RIGHTEOUSNESS IS THEIRS TO HURT AND SUPPRESS OTHERS RIGHT, ONLY A LEADER LIKE DUTERTE COULD BRING THE BALANCE AND MAKE THIS COUNTRY TO ITS FEET AGAIN. RMBR THIS IS OUR LAND AND GOD GAVE IT TO US WE HAVE TO CLEAN IT, AND WE NEED SOMEONE TO LEAD WITH A STRONG WILL TO DO IT FIRST AND THATS DU30.

    • I agree with your first statements that we shouldn’t lie the change in our country with the soon-to-be-president and that we should start with ourselves. However, your last statements, “Ok lang manakawan manakawan ng pera. Pero hindi ok ang manakawan ng buhay at dignidad.”, are seriously disturbing. Don’t you know that the money that is being stolen by our corrupt government officials/employees belonged to the pockets of our law-abiding and conscientious citizens and is hard-earned money? That money should be used to help our less fortunate fellow Filipinos and to improve our communities and should not be spent shamelessly only for their luxuries. A lot of people, too, who are very blinded by their love for money have the tendency to kill. So, in my opinion, there’s no difference between a corrupt and a killer.

      P.S. Please read 1 Timothy 6:10.

  27. simple but concise presentation. Yes, as humans, we were born wretched and corrupted, from the inside, born into this world speaking lies, cussing, etc. etc…but politics is politics, all the kingdoms of this world are run by and through politics, so as far as politics is concerned, a leader with a strong will-power deserves to hold a disintegrating nation once and for all. It’s really now or never. It’s Caesar or Nothing(Teddy Locsin)..

  28. Yes true, as christians our task is to pray for duterte to encounter God personally, and with alan as his vp its a good tandem bcoz alan is a christian, with his final statement in last presidential debate, he’s the only candidate who mentioned God. Lets pray for duterte until may 9 and onwards

  29. When choosing your lifetime partner, you don’t want someone who is not a Christian. Why? because there is no guarantee that he will change. As a Christian, we choose our leader to be someone more like Jesus. Because Jesus is the best example of a great leader. So, first and foremost, we look at the heart of the person first. Whatever comes out of the mouth comes from the heart. Sorry but I cannot give my Christian vote to a non-Christian like Duterte. Because without God’s guidance, we will all be in big trouble.

  30. With due respect not all christians, pls use other blog not all christian wil vote duterte, im one of them. Same with Cayetano for we are called the #solidnorth.

    • let the government build roads and bridges, let the church help filipinos to build a relationship with Jesus for a true transformation…it’s our duty to vote as a Christian but whoever wins, as christians let us submit… God has a purpose and He is in control because no political leader will thwart His will for our country. just focus in our mission to proclaim the gospel of Christ to your family and to our nation..be obedient to God and let the Lord do the rest…
